Proverbs 2:6:
“For the LORD giveth wisdom: out of his mouth cometh knowledge and understanding.”
We live in a culture that treats wisdom like a commodity ….something you acquire through podcasts, productivity hacks, or enough life experience. Proverbs 2 says otherwise: wisdom is a gift, not a purchase. It comes from God’s mouth, meaning it comes through His Word and through relationship with Him.
This is freeing. You don’t have to manufacture wisdom on your own strength. You can ask for it, the way you’d ask a generous father for something you actually need. The chapter goes on to describe wisdom as something you search for “as for hid treasures” … active, but dependent. Seek it in Scripture today, and expect God to meet you there.
Prayer: God, You are the source, not me. Teach me to seek wisdom from You before I seek it anywhere else. Amen.
