In a world of constant notifications and endless scrolling, stillness has become a rare discipline worth practicing. Our attention is pulled in dozens of directions at once, and silence can feel almost uncomfortable when we are unaccustomed to it. This verse treats stillness not as an absence of activity but as an active choice to refocus.
Knowing God, in this context, requires slowing down enough to actually notice. Busyness can become a way of avoiding reflection altogether. This verse suggests that some truths, particularly the truth of who is really in charge, only become clear once we stop long enough to listen for them
