It does not promise that every material need will be handed over effortlessly. It does suggest that a life organized around the wrong priorities tends to produce a particular kind of restlessness that reordering priorities can address.
Most people are chasing something, whether security, success, approval, or comfort. This verse asks a pointed question about what sits at the very top of that list. Placing something higher than our own immediate wants, according to this teaching, does not mean neglecting those wants, but it does change how heavily they weigh on us day to day.
