Seeking Wisdom Early

Proverbs 8:17:
“I love them that love me; and those that seek me early shall find me.”

Wisdom is personified as a woman calling out in the streets in Proverbs 8, and here she makes a startling promise: she is not distant or reluctant. She loves those who love her, and she is found by those who seek her.
“Early” doesn’t only mean the morning hours ….it means eagerness, prioritizing the search rather than treating wisdom as a last resort. So many of us seek wisdom only after the crisis hits. This verse invites a different rhythm: seek first, not last. Make wisdom the first phone call, not the final one.

Prayer: Lord, let me seek wisdom early … before the crisis, not just in the aftermath of it. Amen.
