Proverbs 10:19:
“In the multitude of words there wanteth not sin: but he that refraineth his lips is wise.”

More words mean more surface area for sin …more chances to gossip, exaggerate, wound, or boast. Restraint isn’t the absence of things to say; it’s wisdom choosing when not to say them.
This isn’t a call to silence altogether, but to discernment. Before your next conversation today, consider: does this need to be said, and does it need to be said by me, right now?
Prayer: Lord, put a guard over my lips today. Teach me the wisdom of restraint. Amen.
