Proverbs 29:25:
“The fear of man bringeth a snare: but whoso putteth his trust in the LORD shall be safe.”
Fear of what others think is one of the most common, least discussed snares in ordinary life …. it shapes what we say, don’t say, wear, post, and pursue, often more than we realize. It’s a trap precisely because it’s subtle; we rarely notice how much we’re managing other people’s opinions of us.
Trusting God as the audience that actually matters is the way out of that snare. Whose opinion have you been quietly living for lately …and is it worth the trade for the safety of trusting God instead?
Prayer: Lord, free me from the fear of man. Let Your opinion of me matter more than anyone else’s today. Amen.
